Question by piyush_bakshi: Tell me about home-based business opportunities?
Would like to learn about home-based business opportunities that a person can pursue in his spare hours every day. I don’t want something that requires investment or having to keep an assistant, I wish to work independently to supplement my income. I am okay with working in front of the PC as well as working outside doing a real job so long as its not too strenuous. Looking for help on ideas. Could do with some extra dollars.

99.999% of internet home based businesses are scams.
Your best bet to work from home is to be employed by a legitimate company who will hire you to telecommute.
One industry that supports that arrangement is insurance.
I have a small business at home as a private bookkeeper for small business. I do fairly well, but it’s taken 4 years to get enough clients to allow me to do this full time. My only investment was a computer, printer, fax and software. I charge anywhere from per hour up to per hour depending on how extensive the books are. I also do personal tax returns. Undercut the big box competition by a few bucks, and you’re on your way to a great small business. I do returns for family, friends and I get new clients each year.
Do you have any specialty skill where you could work as a consultant? It requires a lot of networking but could turn into a profitable venture.
The best home based business is based on your skills and talents, and how you can market them.

Is the homestead act of 2010 some state law? Because I can’t find anything with that title and you failed to mention your state.
